About This Project

This webinar was presented and recorded on January 29, 2020.

This webinar introduces participants to “Ending Violence Without Violence,” a webinar series which will serve as lead-up programming for a conference of the same name, to be hosted by the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Seven Dancers Coalition, and Interrupting Criminalization: Research in Action.

In this session, participants learn about the state of efforts to end sexual violence in mainstream and community contexts, how we got here, and where we hope to go. Participants develop a shared analysis of interpersonal violence—specifically sexual violence—and a shared understanding of the importance of community-based approaches to sexual violence prevention and intervention.

Speakers:

  • Mariame Kaba, Interrupting Criminalization: Research in Action; Project NIA
  • Jonel Beauvais, Seven Dancers Coalition

Facilitator:

  • Chelsea Miller, New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault
