Submission Deadline: “Know Your Worth” Youth Art Contest

Feb282022

Calling all creative youth! Help us raise awareness about healthy relationships through your art.

From 9:00 PM ET

Presented by the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, in partnership with Queery and NYSCASA

Description

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month (TDVAM), a month dedicated to bringing attention to an issue that effects 1 in 3 teens in the United States. TDVAM is a national effort focused on advocacy and education to stop dating violence before it starts.

Our friends at the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV) are hosting an art contest for youth (ages 12-20). This year's theme is "Know Your Worth." We invite you to join us in our efforts to raise awareness and to foster dialogue about what healthy relationships look like by spreading the word among the teens and young people you work with!

How to Participate in NYSCADV’s “Know Your Worth” Art Contest

Entries express the theme, "Know Your Worth," and may be submitted anytime through Monday, February 28 at 9pm. Voting will take place March 1-3, and winners will be announced on March 4.

The contest is open to all youth ages 12-20 in New York State. Contestants under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian permission to enter. Group entries are permitted, but if selected as a winner the group will receive 1 prize in total. There is no cost to participate.

Download the contest flyer for more information, rules, and guidelines.

Voting & Prizes

The deadline for entry submission is 9pm on Monday, February 28th. Voting will take place between March 1-3.

There will be a winner for each age category based on the submission that receives the highest number of votes in that group.

Additionally, there will be a grand prize winner. This award will be given to the submission of any category that has the most expressive, creative, inspirational, and/or compelling theme of “Know Your Worth.” The winner of this category will be selected by a panel of experts, including representatives from QueeryNYSCASA, and NYSCADV.

The winners of each category will receive an Amazon gift card. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card, as well as have their submission featured in various NYSCADV education and communications materials, such as the NYSCADV webpage, resources, and social media channels. A profile of the artist and their winning submission will also be shared in the March or April issue of NYSCADV’s electronic monthly newsletter (at the discretion of the winner.) Additionally, the project mentor (teacher, coach, educator, etc.) of the grand prize winner will also receive a $100 Visa gift card.

Thank you for your involvement and support!
