As part of ongoing efforts to educate the community not only about the prevalence of rape and sexual assault, but how to be involved in changing attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate silence, NYSCASA has launched this special pledge campaign. It is NYSCASA's hope to have every person in the state to pledge to take personal accountability to educate others and support survivors of sexual violence. This campaign is a first step to bring further attention to the issue and the need for a coordinated statewide plan to end sexual violence. In order to achieve this, across the board cooperation is needed from every citizen and organization in New York.
Who has signed the pledge already? Legislators, public officials, and citizens from all over New York State have already signed the pledge. To view a list of signers, click here.
How do I get involved? How can I sign the pledge? NYSCASA would welcome your support and participation in the “I Commit to End Sexual Violence in NYS” pledge campaign. Please feel free do download a copy and make it available to sign at your local events or through distribution to your constituents, partners, allies, and community. You can fax or mail your signed pledge form back to NYSCASA to ensure your name will be counted. NYSCASA's fax number is 518-482-4248. The mailing address: 28 Essex Street, Albany, NY 12206. Wallet-sized copies of the pledge are also available to be downloaded and printed out to be given to individuals after they have signed the pledge.
